Tuesday, April 29th, 2014. Tuesday, the day we actually started
acknowledging that we had to be out of the apartment the next day. We got up
early and went to work! Pack, pack, and more packing! We were on a time crunch,
because we had dinner plans at my favorite restaurant with one of my best
friends Grace. It was Grace’s 13th birthday the day before. Ok,
she’s not 13 she’s 25. So, I wanted to take Grace to dinner, but selfishly it
had to be at the place I wanted to eat before we left, Walrus and the Carpenter. Grace is one of the most
darling people you’ll ever meet. Not to mention classy, beautiful, and crazy smart. Bless
her heart, when we were done with dinner she made the mistake of asking us if
there were any other places we wanted to go before we left. Aaron said, “YES!”
There is this place a few blocks from where we were called Mike’s Chili. It’s
this old brick building in the middle of all these new commercial concrete
buildings. Mike’s chili is an old Seattle staple. You know a place is awesome
when you sit at the bar and you can see the chili pots behind the bar. They
served Rainier in a can and fireball. Aaron was a happy man. He ordered a cup a
chili then we called it good. We said our goodbyes to Grace and then I had to
walk down to the Trader Joe’s and say goodbye to my cute redheaded gay Trader Joe’s
employee Joel. He’s awesome. I’m sure it was awkward, because I’m pretty sure
he didn't remember my name, but that’s fine by me. After that we headed home to
get to bed early, because we had a long day ahead of us.
